Plausibility rail-pressure volume regulated warning????

Hi all i have just posted on a similar thread but thought i would ask hare aswell.
I have done a diagnostics check and it is coming back with the warning 'Plausibility rail-pressure volume regulated'
The problem is the x is cranking for a long time before finally starting and I am getting the 'Fuel injection systom' warning light coming up on the dash.
The x is a 3.0d btw as i know most on here are petrol.Any help would be great as i am stumped at the moment:dunno:
Thanks for reading.

Most common issue with that error code is a faulty rail sensor pressure switch..

Hi and thanks for the quick reply  do you mean part no 3 here....
RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 3.0d High pressure accumulator/injector/line

You said most common but would there be anything else obvious causing this? sorry for all the questions but i don't want to go spending another £180 on parts without checking all options.
Thanks again for your reply:thumbup:

With diagnostic error "'Plausibility rail-pressure volume regulated' "..this could be error codes P0001,P0002,P0003 OR P0004.Which is one is it?Depending on which one you have, you cause could be an open circuit, circuit range issue or simply a low/high circuit!
It could be the wiring, the connector ,or indeed the sensor solenoid as per your Realoem link.

Hi and thanks for the reply again  the error warning shows '4560/21 - Plausibility rail-pressure volume regulated' on the scanner and may yet be the rail sensor etc......but since then i have found that the exhaust manifold is cracked so i will see what happens after i replace it.
I will post the outcome once done.

I have replaced the manifold and now all is well :D
Thanks powers1 for your help

What APITA of a job aswell

Glad you got it sorted:thumbup:

Weird though,it showing a fuel pressure error!Has this error gone now?Maybe you need a new scanner:D

Did you replace the exhaust manifold yourself? You are right ,its a hell of a job!
How did you find out how to remove the top turbo bolts?:D
Made even worst on a RHD car because the manifold is on same side as the steering wheel and the drive shaft has to be disconnected for you to take out turbo/manifold.
We dont get many cracked manifolds here, unless the car was badly re-mapped for really high EGTs (exhaust gas temperatures)

Scanners fine fella:D and yes the error has gone but i did replace the return fuel line from the injectors as it looked brittle and possible leaking which would account for the rail pressure.

Yes i did replace it myself and removing the turbo bolts was simple just use a long extension bar and a 13mm socket:D;) and no need to disconect the drive shaft either:D

Interesting about the EGT's though with bad re-maps didn't know that:thumbup:

Now that makes sense then:)
