While I waited, I bought a sirius starmate unit and ran the sound through the aux input in the glove box. you can have one installed there. Sound is good with the right cable. And I like that I can pause it up to almost an hour for talk shows, then fast foward through commercials. Plus the reception on the starmate is so much better than the factory unit I have installed in my Z4.

Thanks for the info, where can I buy the Sirius Starmate and where is the antenna installed?

It's interesting that they are saying you must lose the CD changer because mine ('05) had both when I purchased it (Sirius has since stopped working). I miss it sometimes, but think I would rather put the money into a nice AUX solution like the mediabridge.

You can get the sirius units pretty much anywhere, radio shack, best buy, etc. I put the antenna just above my drivers door under the roof rail. I know some people have placed it in the rear spoiler, but I don't think their reception is as good from what I've read.

The smart phone plugged in the aux input is a nice inexpensive way to stream audio. Pandora on the smartphone is another free option for great music of all kinds. I have the aux input and although it's bare bones regarding control I have found that it sounds great. I plug my power source in the flashlight socket in the glove box, connect the iPhone/iPod in the Aux Input which is also in the glove box and set the player to random or a playlist and let it do it's thing and I still have my CD player.

A local indy installed my Aux input in no time flat. Here's how many have done the job.

I have sirius radio and still have my 6 cd changer in the back. My reciever is in under the tire and the antenna is on the roof. So Yes you can have reciever and the cd changer. The satelite is integrated into the nav computer.

You definitely cam have both....have both in my m3 and x5. You just purchase the daisy-chain cable from BMW. You plug the existing plug into the Sirius receiver and the new cable into the other plug on the Sirius receiver and the other end into the cd changer. You may also need the extension cable for the existing plug, depending upon where you install the sirius. If you install in the spare tire compartment you will definitely need the extension cable. It is very easy and you will have both Sirius and cd changer. Cables are actually pretty inexpensive, especially through Tischer. Hope this helps.

I got the DICE interface with Sirius Tuner from BAS. Also with iPOD. I love it, yes you lose CD Changer, but those are going to the way of cassettes

or you can get a Sirius window mount interface, and tune it to a radio station. quality wont be at its best, but youll still have the 6 disc
