Sounds to me like your abs module has gone bad. It is located behind the left headlight. I had the same thing happen to mine and I sent it off and had it rebuilt for like $250.

okay sounds good

would i have to replace dsc module and abs or just abs?

Here is what need to be look at..
Speed sensors.
ABS modular.
steering wheel Angle sensor.
You need to run a test/diagnose to be sure witch one is bad.

Can I go to a Indy for that or do I need to go to BMW

actually now that i think of it i think it may have been called the dsc control unit. i just remember it was located behind the left headlight and can be accessed by pulling the headlight. checking the other components like suggested would be a good start though.

when mine went it made my vehicle go into trans fail safe mode from time to time. it seemed to happen when mine got warmed up. when i would first start up and take off everything seemed fine however after a short trip, about 15 miles home it acted up, like i said after it had warmed up. strangely enough at the same stop light every day until i pulled the unit, sent it off and had it refurbished. after that no problems.

well so far i have not experienced the fail safe mode or anything like that? and car has not acted weird or anything yet? im just going off the three lights lit in my dash.. they never go off. and i live in miami so car warms up in about a min or two she ready so i dont know just dont want to spend extra money that i dont have for something that can wait..

Couldn't tell you about driving with the issue. But any good bmw indy should be able to pull the codes for you. Here is were I ended up sending my unit to have it refurbed and they had a quick turn around and stand behind their work. See their website at BBA reman. ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, and catalytic converters or call them at (866) 573-2740. They charged me like $250 including shipping and all. I just had to pull my unit and send it to them. And who knows you may not have the same issue as I did. It was on my 01 4.4i that it happened to me.
