Guinness may be Irish, but I was in the UK back when I got real Guinness, so I guess I just associate it with the UK.

I'm with you...I waddled out into the kitchen, found a few cans of Guinness that we have on hand, in case someone wants one: it's a 14.9 oz can with a rattle 'widget' inside that pumps CO2? into the bev when one pours it into a glass. Can states it is brewed/made in Ireland, imported by Diageo, and one should serve it cold. It lists carbs, cals, etc., but does not list alcohol content. Fwiw...:D

I love the fact that my petrol question opened up a political and alcohol based discussion.

We do have a massive drinking culture here in Blighty - I've got friends in NYC and they don't even go for drinks on a Friday luncthtime at work. What's all that about?!

Must admit, If I could uproot and move to the US or Australia I would.
They'll be taxing our farts soon here in the UK.

Well I just dropped my guts and have already had the bill.
But fuel and alcohol related, I'm goin on the continent later this year and when over there last I saw E85 available almost everywhere. Stuck some in me Saab even though Saab said don't do it. Ran fine, car still runs fine and was a lot cheaper. So I'm gonna stick it in the X if I can afford to get it off the chunnel.
Just to add I didn't put just E85 in cos I know about the damage caused by anything with more than 10% alcohol:(
