Likewise!
Likewise! I especially like your idea of the charcoal/black corner treatment. I went with amber film on my corners....

can it be retrofitted to fit xenon bulbs?

Xenon bulbs

If you do not have factory HIDs... absolutely YES! A non-Xenon conversion is actually less complicated than what I had to do; The thickness of the projector tunnel and the cutoff on the ebay headlights are virtually the same as the OEM HID projectors so the pattern and light output will be the same, however the socket is designed for a halagen H7 bulb (this is why I had to swap projectors in mine to get my OEM Xenon bulbs to fit), which will make this the perfect setup for an Aftermarket H7 HID conversion Aftermarket HIDs (easily found on ebay)are designed specifically to fit halogen socket types (H7, etc...). I would recommend a quality set in the 4k-6k range to replicate the OEM color. Maximum light output is around the 4000k-4500k (OEM kits are around 4100k-4300k) temperature. The higher the kelvin temperature (k) the deeper the blue color of the light will be... however the overall brightness will also diminish as you go more blue. If you are going for maximum brightness, I would not recommend going any higher than 6000k. This set is inexpensive and is close to the correct color temperature; H7 Xenon HID HeadLight kit bulb 00-10 BMW E53 X5 E83 X3 - eBay (item 170542484558 end time Feb-16-11 08:50:52 PST) This set even has the error code canceller capacitor/anti flicker! Good luck! |
Oh, I just read your previous post, I see you have alrady explained. sorry for asking again. I would like to swap, as I have Factory ones. Thanks

gixxer, they look good, why did you decide to sell em on Ebay?

Test Marketing
Actually, I am testing to see if there is a market out there for these. I have already purchased another set of OEM projectors and plan to convert another set of these headlights... :D
