How do you get the OBC display in the radio screen? Is that a v26 feature? Also, what is the mail icon in the bottom right corner?

It is a very normal setup in the menu. My prevenient X5 3.0 in 2003 has this function too. ;)

Use a normal audio cable, you can find it from the computer market(for multimedia speaker). I choose a 3.5mm stereo plug--->3.5mm stereo socket, if difficult to find that, you can use the 3.5mm plug--->3.5mm plug type as
the one with green plugs in the photo.

How do you access and display that screen. Whats the difference with the Aux cable you have displayed and the orignal? Is this just a do it your self kind of thing?
