Fair enough, I don't know how often you have people riding in the back of your car and how often they complain about your rear seats. But it sounds like your beating yourself up just to have a bunch electric gadgets that will probably never be used 99% of the time. These cars have enough electrical problems as it is, why bring more unwanted problems on yourself, I hope you figure it out good luck.

Well, I have people seating in the back about 60% of the time, soon it will be 80% of the time. No one ever complains about anything, they love my car and X is very good when sitting in the back also. However, sometimes It's good having seat heating in the rear, I love that. Also, the thing that someone can tilt their sit and sit better is a ++. More features also. Don't know. I like it I guess. Was also thinking about adding Folding mirrors, and it's going to cost me about 30$ max, but they brake more then they fold. :D Still going to add it I guess. makes me happy to have all the good stuff in it. I also found the switch, so No problems I guess :)

I'd be happy with just having the bits that allow the seats to stay reclined back further permanently. The cost to upgrade to power wouldn't really be worth it for me, but I'd like if it was reclined just for the fact that it'll give a feeling as there is more rear room. Since you've gone this far to take everything apart, how hard do you think it'd be just to add just the tracks that allow it to recline, minus the electrical mess?

Basically, it looks like I need all these parts. Nik, since you've got the entire area all taken apart, do you think there is a way get away with part #2 and just move my current latch back an in or so to give the rears a little more recline w/o the need for power.

 Good one. (you know you can turn those off along with window switch turn off right?)another comfort option
Ok james, if you look close to my #5 picture you can see that the metal, it seats in the seat. There is no possible way you can tilt it back as it doesn't have space to move back. Well, unless you are willing to cut the metal part off, retro it and then weld it back. no other options whatsoever. and about the price, for me, only cost that I am paying for is the electrical wire which extends with a switch the existing prewire and has button switchs on the other. However that at junkies is going to cost me like 10$, once I find it that be... cause everyone seems to be burning those after they take the car apart. I guess I need a fresh one :D

The way this system is wired requires both switches to be installed for the seats to work. The trunk buttons will work without the relay but for the interior switches to work the relay needs to installed. The relay is only there so the rear switches can be isolated by the driver through the button on window switch. The relay is located in rear fuse box, from the back it's the 2nd relay in.

As a retrofit it's straight forward on a pre wired car. But will require;
Motors/ mechanisms
4 x switches
Relay
Both rear side panels
Side panel cover trims, that fit around the latches.
It may be possible to out the truck buttons holes otherwise 2 more trims.

This is a great option as it also allows to seats to move forward increasing the load space if needed.

Hate to resurect an old thread here, but how far does the power reclining rear sear ACTUALLY recline?? I might want to add this option eventually, but want to know how far i can expect to recline (for the kids snoozing on longer trips!)
thanx all,

It's only a few inches. They do not lay down. My kids (12 & 15) don't use the recline part any more but they use the heated seat all the time (except during the summer)

I know question is very old :)
I am doing the same thing now! I went through the wires and made decision that wires are only for 1 part for the trunk! Second part is left motor and roof! We can see under navy the 12 pin connector with the same colours of those rest wires! All we need to do is to get 12 wires and install them! 2 for motor and rest for 2 buttons in the roof!
U can see in that connector all the same colors like in the right side!

Looks like fun! Where did you get your parts gatojurko ??
