Self adjust suspension inactive msg on dash!!!
Hey guys just a couple days ago I lifted my Beamer and completely forgot to remove the fuse to turn off the self adjust suspension, so now my the self adjust suspension is completely disable and my x5 looks really drop!!! :/ I inspected all the air bags but don't see any sing of them being torn.. Is there any possible way to reset it with out having BMW look at it and charge me an arm and a leg??? I haven't drove it for a week.. I don't even know if is safe to drive it like that... Please help!!!!

good question. I also need the answer so count me tuned in...

Not sure but what would happen if you reset by disconnecting the battery? Maybe someone else have a better suggestion?
|
Why do you need to remove fuse. I lifted mine a bunch of times, today mechs changed mounts, no fuse pulling here.
Others on forum tried the disconnect battery thing. Doesn't work on this fault. |
Curious about this to. OP, where did you read that you need to pull the self leveling fuse to lift the car? I don't think BMW would design it that way.
|
Did you insert the key or turn the ignition on while it was in the air? Did you disconnect the ride height sensors and turn on the key? Did you activate the alarm with it in the air? I have had that problem before with the car on a lift and the key turned on. I had to reprogram the ride height using a GT1 after I had the problem.
No problems when I raise it but keep the key away. |
Looks like you have zero pressure in the system so the pump might not be coming on.
When one of my bags developed a leak, my pump did not start at first. I took a look inside the pumpkin and made sure the connections were all good. Messed with it a bit and started working, six months later still going fine. |

Curious if OP did more harm by touching the fuses, and possibly starting car without them. |
Oh, and OP, you now need a dealer, or someone with GT1. Two reasons. Reset that error, and find out the fault.
