I believe they're trying to keep the look as close to stock as possible... I think you may be the first person who ever used the word "cheap" to describe an Eisenmann exhaust!

I think I'll keep my stock 4.6is exhaust and go with some more aggressive looking tips like these, plus it's a lot cheaper option as I'm only after the look...lol! http://www.xoutpost.com/%3Ca%20href=...0521498935.jpg

They sell the exhaust with double-walled 4.6-style tips as well.

Can anyone answer my question?

BTW I do like the look of those tips with the double edge....classy. Like a leather bound book...

I have to agree with Romeo. They do LOOK cheap-as he pointed out. We all know Eisenmann's great quality, and are like Stella Artois-reassuringly expensive , its just the single wall that would put me off.

Personally I plumped for the 160x80 (I think) 'oval' back boxes for my 4.4, much akin to the look of the standard 4.6's. :D

Would be good to see them on your beast, accompanied by some blips on the loud pedal-perhaps shut me and Romeo up...yes?

Nate, since when did they add that support between the two mufflers? Mine doesn't have that.

Max, that's awesome. :) So cool to have been well acquainted with their stuff. $3k was "cost" pricing? whew. I haven't checked on today's pricing for it, as it would be a cliche "if you have to ask how much it is". Still, I wonder if pricing for the 4.6iS application has gone down, up, or what.

While you were there, did you get the chance to see a cutaway of a Tubi can?

All this talk is literally exhausting (LOL)! Now you guys have got me thinking of purchasing an Eisenmann system for my X5 4.6is.... The question is, what to do with my stock 4.6is exhaust? What is it worth and is anyone interested?

Not a fan either of single wall exhaust tips.Unfortunately, I am another person that will say that particular Eisenmann exhaust does look cheap and not well made.I weld my own and clients s/s exhausts and there are at least 3 reasons the finish could be better on the Eisenmann:-
1.Welding on those tips to the muffler is a bit gross and badly finished.
A stainless steel weld can easily be made to be smooth and less noticeable.

2.Welding the support brackets on the main muffler body is not ideal as its the weakest point, best to weld them on the reinforced edges, but unfortunately ,others aftermarket companies are doing the same.To see how and where support brackets are welded ,just look at your stock mufflers!

3.Single wall tips are nothing more than a polished s/s pipe and are one way of cutting production costs.Just look at how much the 4.8is (beautiful) tips cost from your dealer :)
