Front control arm bushing issue - weld it in place?

So, I've come across a major problem with MTC (aftermarket) front thrust arm bushings....the large round ones on the front most control arms. The bushings are too small in diameter to be press fit into the OE control arm. I have two choices; go buy OE BMW bushings or weld in the MTC bushings. The MTC bushings have about 1/2 mm clearance gap so they just barely slip into the control arm. If I could manage the heat properly, do you think it would be possible to tack weld the bushing onto the control arm? Or is this a bad idea?

I wouldn't even think about welding on the bushings. Just grab a pair of OEM or Meyle HD bushings.

If you really want to make those aftermarket crappers work there is a 3rd option... get a good sharp pointy punch and peen the inside of the control arm every 1/4" or so all the way around on both sides, then press in the bushing with loctite paste on the joining surfaces. Not the best repair, but MUCH better than welding. Besides, you'd be hard pressed to weld aluminum to steel!

But I second the notion to get the Meyle HD bushings. They are the best option imo.

I considered the peening method but It's kind of a halfass way to do it.

I bit the bullet and bought the OE BMW bushings at the dealership. Very expensive but they had them in stock. And they fit sooooo much better.

DO NOT BUY MTC BUSHINGS!!!!!!

I needed them ASAP. Ordering online and waiting a few days is not an option when this vehicle is my DD.
