if you are going to do this, you could easily powder coat instead of paint the calipers-- last more.

i'm in Des Moines for the winter and running 18" snows.... makes a big difference!

My stealer wants 550 just for the rear. I have a shop that works only on BMWs & his quote was 410, using only OEM parts.

I'm going to purchase brake pads from him, rotors from tirerack and need to get the sensors from the stlr!

Local shop offered to do it for $200. I estimate about 550 total, which is much easier to swallow then the 1100 sltr quoted me..

will order all parts and post back..

Gargonzo: My experience with the same issue is to go with the solid brembo rotors and then with PBR pads. I heard many people saying no to the drilled rotors, especially as many stores do the drilling themselves and for street riding application it is not worth it. I did that with my 01 x5 and I am very happy. Good braking, little dust. Just be sure you find a good shop that will do the installation.

BTW, I bought my parts from http://www.importrp.com ( I have no affiliation with them). Good guys, reliable and they know their stuff.


Be sure to get the sensor cables, that will reset the computer.
