I have a buyer patiently waiting for the wheels, life got really busy for me and I haven't had the time to remove the tires and get them packaged up yet... still! But if for some reason he changes his mind (when I finally get around to it haha) I'll let you know!

Master Weasel, I think I recall that der X is gone, but..
was it driveable? did the doors stay closed, if not sealed? wondered if a slow-roll e53 woulda' been an improvement over the well-described work-truck.. or better yet, became that rain-in-your face personality-mobile.. the I-can-hear-the engine-better-this-way-so-I-know-whenta'-add-oil truckus I have seen growin' up around farms. sorry for your loss.. |
If it were in a little better condition I probably would have kept it lol... but the a-pillars and front of the roof were just a little too far gone. while the doors still opened and closed, the drivers window was stuck down due to a pinched door frame and the passengers window rolled up about 2" outside of the door... If it weren't for all the electronics inside the truck I coulda made it an open top roadster truck with a rhino lines floor, which would have been awesome!
But its crazy how much I miss this truck some days... Especially now that I have a wonderful woman in my life that has a kid, it was the best family cruiser vehicle... |

If you don't sell those wheels let me know I may be interested. Did you end up with the car or is it in a salvage yard? Do you have the ability to sell the headlamps? Please advise and good luck with your new girl. |
Since I haven't been around much lately at all, still enough going on in my life where I need at least two clones lol, I still haven't gotten around to pulling the tires off the 20's to prep them for shipping or got the BSW box ready either...
My own laziness aside, things are still perfect with the new woman, looks like I found the one! The E36 has been rock solid flawless as my ~120 miles per day daily driver. And the old farm truck... well, is still an old farm truck lol. Beat up, but dependable... which I guess is all that matters with a $500 truck haha. And to top it off I'm putting another house on the property for me and my lil woman, so life is getting exciting for me at least! Oh yeah, got to try my hand at rebuilding my first transmission too... The GM 4L30E in my moms E39 bombed out at a measly 176k miles, so I dropped it faster than a cheerleaders panties on prom night and ripped it open. The spring hub in the bottom of the second drum had fully grenaded and threw shrapnel through the whole tranny. I replaced all the frictions and gaskets/seals, bought a new drum etc. to replace the blown up parts... Got it back together and luckily enough it works! I figured it was worth a shot as a rebuilt unit would have cost $3k+, a full rebuild would have cost ~$2k, and a junkyard unit would be better served rebuilt anyways... I made it out the door total with just over $300 including next day airing the hard parts I needed! So for the people that are supposed to be buying my wheels and sub, I haven't completely forgotten about you, but I've continually had important shit thrust upon me to keep it lower in my priorities unfortunately. |
Great to hear from you! Things are definitely exciting for you.

Wow. Glad you are ok. Paint looks great for an outside spray job! I do wonder what the insurance company sold it for. Lot's of valuable parts on that puppy, which did look like a X7 ///Mashed. Mines not smashed, but it's in park for a long while, unless I get a better position. (timing chain guides failed, luckily in my driveway)

yup glad there were no injuries, and i haven't read alll the posts but am surprised insurance covers such a mishap....i mean nowadays dont they hookup a device to the OBD and check the logs see how fast you been going etc?
