I would have sold you my kit at 1/2 price!

Yeah the plug is there, and thats why the ECS Tuning kit was the best and cheapest option. I decided to go with the E-trailer one, because its easy to installed, there is a Video in youtube of it, and my X5 does not have PDC. What year is your X5? how much would you sell you harness kit for?

I have an '03 4.4. Will sell the e-trailer kit for $40 + shipping.

i had to replace one of the brake light wiring harnesses because I had a place wire a standard universal kit in...it smoked up shorted out and caught on fire...melting the harness.
So good luck with that harness...I have a BMW specific tow package wired now works perfectly

I am TOTALLY cock blocking the sale of my e-trailer harness, but I agree, it suck a$$! That is why when I saw it, I ordered the OEM harness! I would not install that abortion on my X5!

Bringing this subject back from the dead..... Apparently the factory harness part #7160009698 is long out of production..... Anyway, I plan to get a small travel trailer, which I believe all have 7 pin connectors. What is the best way to wire this using a universal kit? Any advice? If anyone can locate the OEM part, I'll pay top $$$$$, I hate modifying factory wiring......:dunno:
