On the other hand, the E70 has had many, many major issues at a third the mileage of the Land Cruiser, many leaving me stranded, and with no apparent warning. To list but a few: - Failed starter motor, twice. - Failed alternator. - Failed brake master cylinder, car rolled backwards and hit other cars. - Water ingress into rear fuses, causing myriad of issues out of nowhere. - Failed fuel pump relay, in traffic (was very, very difficult to diagnose) Others not stranding me but failures nonetheless: - EPB (twice, replaced) - Front wheel bearings - Pretty much entire front suspension items (from control arms, etc) - Rear air springs, both, twice. - Engine motor mounts (all) - Water valve, various HVAC sensors and items Currently ignored: - 4x4 failure, DSC failure, Active steering failure, EPB failed again. Now you can see my frustration and why I have to, perhaps unfairly, compare the two vehicles, and wonder why the X5 is this unreliable - its mind boggling. Sent from my SM-A515F using Tapatalk |

@05:15 this morning on my way to work. :bmw:
1600 miles since the suspension rebuild, alignment, and GMIII module replacement. It's running great. We drove it to San Marcos yesterday to have lunch. Great run at 70-75 MPH. Getting it ready for a 1000 mile run during Thanksgiving week. |

Holy smokes! That is the sort of thing that terrifies me -- should not ever happen in this day and age. |

I'd be right there with you if it didn't cost $150 + and require my car to be down for two weeks. |
