sorry just read in more detail the OP
No heavy snow, this will be a great tire! |
Got the Xi2. They are nice tires. Now we get a week of sun and 45-50 degree weather... go figure?? :)

Just placed an order for Latitude X-Ice Xi2's through costco for $700. Mine's are 235/65/17 though. Did quite a bit of reading and decided to go with narrower tire and purchased a set of factory (style 130) 17 wheels from craigslist. Originally was planning on getting Pirelli ice and snow's, unfortunately they're all sold out around here, including the net. Thinking Michelins will do just fine.

Before there's a silly response, I mean that I drive well over 70mph in winter when the conditions are appropriate.... |

No rebate on Michelins. Would've been nice, though. There is a $70 off for set of Bridgestones plus $30 off installation.

I really enjoyed my Michelin X-Ice tires but found they wore out quicker than expected. I suspect the same formulation that makes them perform well in the cold and ice makes them wear more quickly in dry, warm conditions...especially with heavier vehicles.
I'm finding that my Pirelli Scorpion Ice/snow tires are holding up better over time with similar performance in snow, ice and better performance in the dry. |
