Can someone help me find the part number for PDC cover ECS help please
Hi All, Looking at the following link
RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 4.8is Park Distance Control (PDC) I need the part number for number 10. I am about to order the number 4 from ECST, but I feel I might as well get the number 10 cover. My entire PDC seems to wobble in the bumper, so I feel I may have been love taped and somehow broke in it. Thanks in advance. |

Sup bro. No that doesn't look right. I need the trim around the PDC. My PDC doesn't even want to stay in place. I can wiggle it but can't take it out. The trim looks flat, not coned.
I think your GT1 really pinpointed it. Once I saw it, I was sure it was screwed. I did the clicking test too. You certainly know your e53. |

Maybe you have to buy that whole piece as one..

If you look at the sensor, PN above, it doesn't show the trim. |
If its not the part I linked then its PROBABLY a part that comes with the PDC front bumper instead. Meaning, when you buy a front bumper with the PDC option it comes with the sensor holders.
If you cannot purchase it separately then you'll have to pull one from a salvage yard or get lucky on fleabay, CL, etc. Its hard to believe you couldn't get that part separately but you never know. Next time I take my bumper off I'll have to take pics for future reference. |
Strange that when I use your link it shows a part number for part #10.
However, if I start from the beginning on realoem and I use 2004-2006 4.8is, part #10 isn't listed at all. :dunno: |

Still hope ECS can come into this thread and help me out. Twins, I am going to take off the bumper as soon as I get the parts. I will take pics of this. Thanks again. |

Might want to just double-check first before you order. I know they're inexpensive but if you don't need them ... That way you could confirm that's the part you need if it matches the pics. Another is there's a chance a part number is stamped on there that you could use to track it down. The diagram at realoem looks like its for the 3.0/4.4 not for a 4.6/4.8 (at least the diagram for the front). Good luck! |

Although as per your instructions on bumper removal it doesn't seem that hard, or time consuming. Maybe Ill take it off tonight. I really want to know what holds that sensor in place. |
Looking at all my diagrams it's not super clear which part exactly holds the sensor. There appears to be a few different "mounts" which hold everything tight. If it's possible to get a camera (cell or just a small camera) and get a half way decent photo of the mount you feels busted we can work from there.
Just looking at it though, it would appear Part 7 (the supports) might be a key in keeping everything from being loose. ECS Tuning |

Wanted to update, fixed the PDC. Turned out to be cut wires. Friend soldered them up, and we are good to go. Yay, $100 in the pocket.
Oh and I found that part number that we couldn't figure out. I'll update that later. |

So as promised. That trim that holds the PDC. By the way, I couldn't find it on real OEM, but found it on ECST website. Go figure. Part # 51127039603 Home Page > Search > ES76224 > ES#76224 Parking Sensor Bracket - 51127039603 This part, that we suspected, does not belong anywhere in the front. Part 10 from realoem. # 51117009895 Home Page > Search > ES74355 > ES#74355 Front Bumper Trim Support - Priced Each - 51117009895 The PDC does not come with the trim. (I ordered all of this just to be safe, but now need to return) Hopefully ECST won't charge me the restock fee, and I am giving them back 18 pieces of stuff I did not order or pay for. I ordered 2 of these. Home Page > Search > ES18560 > ES#18560 Pressure Regulator Valve Repair Kit - 11127547058 I received 20 of them. Or 2 complete boxes with 10 each. Someone was generous. |
