the battery light is coming on when there is a disbalance on the rectifying bridge in the voltage regulator, when one of the diode arms is out of balance (burnt?), meaning that the system is charging only on a half of the sine wave... you can not reset the battery light, unless you replace the voltage regulator, fix the bridge, or replace the alternator...

Odd the act of asking the computer to look at the voltage turned it on.

I'll go have the alternator tested.

Thanks

Can't tell from the pictures. Is your new battery vented?

Drove to O'Reilly. Alternator bad.

On the way back the car reported as low as 10.4.

Turned off, not on charger:

Fluke:

Charging, still off:

Fluke is higher which I find really odd:

Called dealer, they are hemming & hawing on the warranty covering this.

Battery is bad

Join AAA they do a free battery per year and the install is free all for $136.00 per year, also they will test the entire system on site, to rule out anything else !

My battery charges. It has been trickling since 7am and is at 13.6.

Start car right back to 12.4.

I ordered a reman. Dealer can reimburse or not and if they pull this ish many more times my lawyer will be talking to them.

On a psudo related note can I deactivate the "cooling" correct me if I am wrong but 230 degree water in 110 degree air inside a 140 degree engine compartment is absurd.
