I want the E53 back, every bmw since 2006 has been uglier than hell, this is no exception

I like the back...not crazy about the front...But when we see these cars in person, they always look much nicer than in the pics, so I can't really judge till I really see in person:)

bmw is starting to look a lot like lexus with all of its round bits and pieces, i wish they would go back to a chunkier more muscular look of the E53

The e53 was and still is a good looking vehicle. However, it is aging, albeit well. The e70 is a good looking vehicle too. Especially in sport package trim, imo. I still remember the first time I saw an e70 4.8i with the y-spokes in person. The new one is probably going to look great too. The good news is there are still e53's out there if you want to buy one. Most people will move on though. Although some recent BMW designs were questionable, ie. e60, e65 7 series, 5 series GT, X6, etc, overall, I think they are heading in the right direction with the current designs.

I have to disagree with you comment regarding all post 2006 models being ugly. The current 3 series coupes, 5 series, 6 series, X5, 7 series and Z4 are good looking cars, imo.

Makes me love my E53 even more.

The ugliest BMW ever made were Z3, and compacts e36 and e46.
These pictures do suck the same way the mysterious iPhone 5's renderings did :)

I bet it will look awesome in black (that shit brown color doesn't help). And the back view is not even an X5, its the X6. Look how the back of the window has 2 different angles. Def not the same vehicle.
