My issues were resolved, I just wanted to point out the hassle that I had to go through to get them resolved.

So it was with ECS. I ordered quite a few things from them to the tune of around $2k. Some stuff for my car, some stuff for buds out of country. Either way not all the parts turned out to be needed. One example was my PDC sensor and all related stuff for it. Once I removed the bumper, I realized my wires were just cut. My electrician soldered them up, and I was back in business and the parts were not even opened. Need to return. Here is where it gets a bit frustrating. On the same order, I ordered Pressure Regulator Valve Repair Kit, 2pc. What I received was 2 boxes of them. 20pc. They didn't bill me for them, but I figured I would give it back, at the same time return my items that I didn't need. Talking to a rep, via email and phone, I provide them pictures of the mess up, talk to them and negotiate a return without loosing the 15% restock fee. (I have this email) The problem is that this was negotiated over the phone and email, since no one at ECS was getting the fact that they sent me too much stuff, and I didn't want credit for 2pc of the regulator repair kit, and was just giving back 18pc. Ok all good. Month later I get my CC statement, and the refund looks awfully small. Like $40 bucks less than it should be. I call them up, try to reach the initial rep, left messages, all that. No one gets back to me at all.

While I am trying to deal with all that, I also return a transmission mount. I talked to the rep, and said that I will take store credit as I know I will order more stuff, and don't want to take a 15% hit. He says ok. Again, nothing happens, I don't see the credit. WTF.

Fast forward to yesterday. I call them up, and this time I am a bit concerned someone is messing up my returns. Yep, they got my stuff, and refunded to CC charging me 15% for the last return again. I ask to speak to a manager who is a complete prick. Now I am from NYC, and trust me I can blow a gasket, but I figure I will be mature about it. I tell him I keep getting charged 15% on every return, even though I asked not to and was willing to take store credit, as per their return policy. So after a bit of attitude, he gives me 15% credit on my last return. Ok getting somewhere. Then I ask him what about my first return, I got screwed there. I get this whole thing about how I should have gotten email confirmation on all of it. (I actually did) Then it has been too long and he can't do anything about it, then he tells me that if it was an issue, I would have gotten this manager that time. I tell him that I tried to be polite and contact the rep that I initially dealt with. But wait, I have the email where the !5% was to be waived, I keep my cool and ask him to stay on the phone while I find it. 5 seconds later he just snaps and tells me screw it, not going to argue with you about $25. He goes I'll take care of it, goodbye. OK. FU, why were you wasting my time then.

Really not about the $25 at all. My wife's and my lunch costs me that every day, it's really the principle. Your team said one thing, but did completely different 2 times. Then I had to chase this guy down and what I though would be a polite conversation, turned offensive, like I was hungry for $25 and stealing from them or something. Um, what these assholes don't even realize, or give a shit, is that I gave them back nearly $400 worth of pressure regulator kits, for free. I could have sold them all on ebay in 1 day for $10 a piece if I was that hungry for $25 that they credited me. It would have been sweeter to give them away to XoutPost for free instead of returning this stuff. Had I only known.

Had I not called them the 6 times, my perception of them would be better. I was just sort of committed with all the favors I did for friends and others by purchasing stuff from ECS and just had to deal with all of this. Returning to ECS is just a huge pain in the ass. So if you might not need something, don't order it, at least not from them. Or if you return, make sure you get it in writing that you are to get credit, as the email from yesterdays return clearly states. The previous return emails were some sort of bullshit RMA template. Chris Cantor is a cool dude by the way, and he initially communicated and did all the right stuff. Just getting him back on the phone was nearly impossible, and everyone else I got was an ass.

I had a similar issue. I am not too fond of their return policies considering there are many other vendors out there with good prices that are happy to have your business.

Thanks Chris. I think your presence here is the only thing that makes anyone want to actually come back to you guys for parts.

I'm James, but thank you for the kind words. I just went down and left Chris a nice note on his desk saying you appreciated what he tried to do for you.
