If anybody is looking for an OEM tow hitch, I'm going to let mine go. I bought a Tahoe instead so I don't need the X5 to tow any longer. PM me!

Tried to PM you. Says your cant receive PMs until you remove some.

How much for the tow kit? Is it still in the box? Will it fit a 2002 E53?

Thanks
Alan

I have the rear kit minus the bumper core. Any chance of modifying the non tow bumper core to work? Or does anyone have a tow bumper core they want to get rid of?

I moved to Delaware a few months after graduating college. Work brought me here, loving the tax-free sales!

Guys. Most of these pics don't work.
Got the bumper off and harness in. No clue where the trailer module goes.
I see near the spare tire.
Can someone give me specifics please. Or a pic.

Thanks.

Do you have access to the electronic bay right behind the battery. Trailer module will be plugged there. PM me if needed

I haven't lifted the compressor. Is that where it goes? Under there by the battery?

I'm hitting it again in the morning.

-unscrew 4 bolts and lift compressor (look out for wires)

-remove plastic cover with BMW logo behind battery. Electronic bay should be in full view with unused bracket available for trailer module
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b3cdccf9cb.jpg

-remove plastic cover clipped against body, that cover separates spare tire and body towards the back
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...da8f2a2857.jpg

- you should now see a hole in the body covered by a plug. Be gentle with the plug, I accidentally sliced open mine. Had to glue it to prevent water getting in. That’s the point of entry of trailer module wiring inside the trunk

- pgs 12-14 of the pdf guide posted by OP in the very first post of this thread should help you with steps by steps (part 12)
