Hey all, I appreciate your help and advice. Put the X5 on the lift and jacked up the rear wheels this am. We could not really figure out a way to engage the air bag to relieve downward pressure on the suspension as shown in the VAC video. However with a pry bar and some creative resistance we were able to determine that there is more play on the right side (the side with the inside tire wear) than the left. It is very hard to discern movement but more noticeable than the left side. So I have gotten past my denial and decided to replace the ball joints and wishbone on both sides. Here is my new question.
I have done a lot of pricing and found that Lemfoerder is a highly recommended brand which makes both OEM parts. Has anyone used the wishbone made by AutoTrust Silver? It seems comparable and carries a 3 yr. warranty. I found the Lomfoeder wishbone for $100 and the AutoTrust for $71. There are even cheaper ones out there but they seem inferior to both of these. Anyone???
