DIY Video - Window Clip Replacement Tips
Hi guys,
Here is another video segment I did on how to replace the window clip that causes the window to rattle when it is lowered. I still have to put together how to remove the window trim, but this is good for now. Window Clip: 51338254781 |
NICE!

Very nice actually. Good job on both vids.

Thank you!
I have this problem on my driver side window. Will replace the plastic clip. |
Nie DIY video. Do NOT over tighten the bolt.
|
actually that bolt has to be tight enough to pop the nut (lol) into the plastic fully. If it doesn't seat complete, your clips will break stupid quick. Make sure that nut is completely in. ahahahah, that was funny writing that. It is funny because it's true. lol.

nice I'm pretty sure I need to do this.
|
Thanks for this! I'm going to be tearing into my doors pretty soon, and now I'll order these clips before doing so.

regulator clip

So I replaced my broken window clip and still having the same problem. I know for sure it is the regulator clip. The cable became disconnected from the clip. The plastic around the cable lug broke. I called BMW and they told me it is part of the regulator. I'm not sure if the guy knew what I was talking about. I have seen some plastic ones on ebay, any idea if I can get an oem one of these from BMW?

great video, i have 4 fresh clips waiting to go in my front windows as we speak, just need a spare hour or so to do it!

Window Clip gurus...
When removing the door trim panel to access the window clips, do you guys/girls disconnect the battery at all? |
^I don't. Just don't turn on the key with the airbag disconnected, otherwise you'll get an Airbag light needing DIS to reset

I have been trying to install these clips stupidly. I thought the bolt screwed in expands the clip.....which it does , but not the way I was thinking.
What I was doing was putting the nut/bushing into the clip fully but could not get clip all the way in flush on the window. This is because the clip is now fully expanded, God I feel stupid lol. I'll try just inserting the nut partially on the clip, get clip on window and then screw in the bolt which pulls the nut/bushing into clip expanding it in the glass hole. Thanks for vid, was about to give up and take it to a shop. |
