I just noticed this gap where the wood trim meets the inside door handle. I've tried to slide it back together but it won't budge. I'm concerned about using some sort of pry tool as I do not want to break anything. Anybody else successfully dealt with this?

I have the same gaps on all four doors after removing trims to take off door panels. I tried to get them all aligned and to no avail. Hopefully someone who has successfully done it can chime in.

I did about a year and a half ago, after they replaced my door handle carrier. Maybe not as much of a gap as you're showing. I was able to fix it just by taking it off and reseating. Took 30 seconds. But I'm assuming you've already tried that. And I'm also assuming you got behind the door with some grippy gloves and tried to force it forward. The problem may also be with the door handle. Try taking it out and reseating it.

I promise, you won't break it. I've taken that trim off a couple of times, using a flat head screwdriver. I believe there are three of those little push-in plastic fasteners holding it in place. Just start from the back with a flat head screwdriver, lift enough so that you can grab it with your fingers, then slowly pull forward. You'll feel where it's connected to the door panel. Again, just go slowly. Watch out for splinters though. The back is unfinished, I got a couple of of deep splinters doing this.

That piece of trim is easy to remove. It is held in by a few metal posts, as indicated in the above post. They are simply pressed into plastic retaining holders, or whatever, by friction. Gently pry up along the length a little at a time. You'll feel it coming up. IIRC, the part you show is where the trim sort of seats in under the black plastic. The black plastic and door handle portion does not move. I have removed those door pieces many times and not had the problem you're showing. I am hoping just removing and installing will fix that gap.

Yea i concur. When I did mine, I had the gap. SO I took the trip piece and moved the metal post to the right within their slot. Slapped it back in and now I have a factory tight fit.

Pry gently along the entire length with goal being the piece comes loose in a coordinated fashion (yeah, that was clear as mud.....).

Anyway, NO prying up one end and then trying to peel it off. It ain't velcro and it'll crack if you bow it too much.

agree with TTGTR...same here.. sometimes theyll come off the little tabs....just take it off....line it the trim goes over the handle push it in and it will pop in...and your done....@ cisco...ill see yours when you gets here in meet

No. Best option is a nylon type trim tool. Country option is butter knife with tape on it.
