South Chicago Area Indy Needed

Hey guys. My search came up a little empty. Doing a "Dex" or "Google" search doesn't tell me much. I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. I have a few things I need to have done and looking for a decent shop. I thought I had found one, but they are no different than the stealership. Not to mention, I called to get a price on a wheel alignment and he said that depends on what mods I made. I said none, I have a 4.8is. He asked about the wheels, I said they have 20s on them. He said that may through it off a bit. I told him these are the size the truck came with. He said maybe, but they are different than what comes on the base truck. So I hung up.

So if anyone has a shop that they can suggest, I'd appreciate it. I'd prefer somewhere close to the south subs. Makes it easy to drop off and pick up.

The work I'm getting done is:
Upper control arms
CV boot
Door Carrier (may do myself)

Future work:
100k maintenance
Regular maintenance (coolants, oil, etc...)

Thanks.

I found a great indy who did a lot of work on my Dad's 4.6is with it's previous owner, tried him out with my M5 and had nothing but a great experience, definitely going back. Only thing is that he is located in Huntley, it's a drive. He's a former tech at Patrick and Motorwerks. What I liked best about him is he kept me updated throughout the whole process and made honest recommendations and what could wait and what couldn't.

Let me know if you're willing to make that trek and I'll give you his contact info.

Try APC in Arlington Heights, IL

I take all my & family cars and even friends take their cars to Chris @ Arlington Performance center. Chris was a head mechanic at MWerks and split from there to open his own about 10yrs ago. He is very reasonable and straight to the point no BSing. I know its a trip again for you but well worth the drive for a trusted shop. I just had my trans rebuilt and it drives like its new .

If you do go there ask for Chris and tell him Troosh (that's me) sent you..he will take care of you..GL

Thanks. R & N isn't too far. Was hoping for someone closer. Arlington is a bit of a trek. But its nice to have the info anyway. Someone else may be able to use them.

Hows their pricing? Will they install parts that I buy? That's the biggest concern. I guess I can call them Monday. Thanks.

They are priced well below dealers; if you've ever had your oil changed by a dealer you'll see what I mean! As far as installing your parts, you'll have to ask them. Give them a call and ask for Richard; he's the owner and an enthusiast like us.

Good luck!
