Shared Experience

I had my transmission and transfer case oil changed at 64k miles. I now have 76K miles. Most of my previous complaints regarding my transmission jerking me around disappeared after the oil change and reset. The one exception would be what you experienced. It's as if my transmission gets confused. I can almost predict when it is going to happen. It usually happens when going downhill and wanting to accelerate. For example, the freeway exit I use to go home is downhill with a sharp left turn that ends uphill at a signal. If the signal is green when I exit, I already know the car will rev up to 3500 rmp before changing gears. No very smooth.

To me,your gearbox is slipping.
That should throw a code.

how do you read a transmission code i have a code reader i thought bmw could only read transmission code
quick note no transafe light came on

Why don't you just wait for it to act like that for a couple of times?
And then get worried and start taking action.
Once I was going with a friend and an air condition was on.X started upshifting and downshifting like crazy.I turned A/c off and it went back to normal and never repeated again.
X is full of electronics, and they are really sensitive...one thing.
gearbox has it's adaptation, and you may have confused it by an unusual pattern.
I don't know if your fluid flush is a cause,it could possibly be.But it's too soon to be worried, unless you get some other slippage and a Transfailsafe message.
These are my thoughts.I went through a rebuild and warranty rebuild after that.Shudders, slippage etc. :)

plugged in code reader no codes
took it for a run & it has done it again its the grone that it gives that has me worried sounds lie something is trying to lock up then it takes of like normal

Get a transmission shop pull the codes.

That noise you heard was the trans slipping/mis-shifting. You had no sport mode because the trans was in failsafe mode. Once you cycled the ignition, it went back to normal. You need a BMW GT1 to read the codes. it will probably show a mis-shift
The problem is most likely, the solenoids in the valve body are hanging up. It's a common problem that could of been exasperated by your fluid change.
If it keeps on happening, You could probably get away with replacing the valve body but if it keeps on slipping too much it will burn the clutches and you'll need a new trans.
We just went through this on our X5 a week or so ago... we had the same problem/noise start about a month or two ago. Eventually, it just got worse and worse. luckily we had a warranty that covered a remanfactured trans from BMW...

I would get a quote from a couple places and go with a most convenient option.
If I remember well, you had your fluid flushed, correct?
Probably it just shortened up the borrowed time.
