Does it work the same as a GT1? Can you program everything in an E53?

Thanks

BMW USB OBD Diagnostic Cable Inpa Ediabas NCS Expert Dis V57 SSS V32 Progman GT1 | eBay
good seller, helps with any issues. worth the price and works great with e53 and e70. If anyone needs help, I can always help out with this kind of stuff.

Hey Alex,

So clarify for me, if I bought that program with cable from romania, I would have full coding and diagnostic capability from my laptop? No other downloads needed or things to purchase?

I believe the kit came with NCSexpert and dummy. you can use that for coding and INPA in part of the package and SSS is for coding modules and such. You just need to research how to do it... theres many youtube videos out there and fourms like bmwcoding, I am usually on bimmerforums diagnostic section. - Diagnostic Software - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

purchasing- all you need is the cable.
downloads. it depends on the vehicle. this stuff is usually upto date. but when i was working with an e70 i asked the seller for a newer version of inpa and he provided a link.

hope that helps you out.

so basically his kit for 35 bucks comes with all I need, including cable? I'd buy from him asap if thats the case, I have seen people using laptop GT1s before, so I'm pretty familiar with it

Right. It comes with everything you need. The difference between a real GT1 and what you get is that the your GT1 will be running on a virtual machine and the host OS will be running a service for emulating the yellow head.

It comes with mostly everything you need to get started. You'll find a lot of info on the other forums as well as far as using it.

So, I didn't try all the modules with my USB connector but going by the people who tried it I bought a serial to ADS cable from Interfaces 4 Beemers
I did try the usb on an e38 though with only an ADS connector and I wasn't successful with the USB cable.
Did you try to communicate with all the modules via ADS with your USB cable ?
If you could then it good to know.

Could you elaborate on this? I am definitely interested in purchasing the USB setup, which modules don't wake up?

I really am only looking to do service functions like clearing codes, air suspension programming height and clearing faults if I ever get any more, as well as doing some coding features like low beams on with high beams and disabling of cold monitoring.

Can I do all these with the USB cable setup?

just ordered one... if I can get my self-leveling fixed with this I'll be thrilled.

everything wakes up, all modules. its important for your battery to be healthy or a few modules dont link. It says that when you hook it up and do auto detect vehicle.
