ipod/aux in e53
Hello everyone, Im having trouble finding the right kit for a aux or ipod connection for my 2002 x5 3.0 with DSP package. it was built in 6/2002.
anyone see a thread on this? |
you can't because like mine our builds are too early.
you need to $$$ up and get one of the dice kits. |
I bought a USA-spec ipod interface for my 2003 with DSP system, it hooks up to the CD changer connection in the trunk, the interface box is under my front seat, and I have a dock connector cable run into the armrest. Charges my phone/ipod as well as lets you have direct control and playlist control.
Bought it from Crutchfield actually, and had a coupon so I paid 135. Works like a charm, and much better than the AUX connectors in my opinion since it plays from dock and charges too. let me know if you want any more info man |
I bet it's the dice unit (or rebranded) the price is about right for it to be. if not please share brand / model.
If I recall it's just a different adapter for DSP and same main unit. |
USA Spec iPod® Interface for BMW Connects your iPod to select 1998-up BMW DSP-style factory radios at Crutchfield.com

Even if you don't purchase from them, you'll gain info on how it's done and what you need to do to install. Here's a link to their website, just follow the links for what they offer for your model: BMW Audio, BMW iPod, Speakers, Subwoofers, & more | BSW: Bavarian Soundwerks |
on a budget. bavarian sound is out of my price range.
|
i followed instructions for BSW when i installed my USA spec interface, look for a crutchfield coupon code online i think i got one for 10% off when i got mine
|
USA spec does look to be a different company. I would compare to the dice for price and features and go with the cheaper.
