Bimmer Enthusiast with a new project (pics inside)
I just wanted to stop in, say hi, and introduce my new BMW! After our son was born (he is 10 weeks) we started looking for something a little better built and safer than my wife's previous car. We stumbled on a 2000 X5 4.4l auto with 146k miles, and ended up getting it at a decent price. It does have the typical leaking valve cover gaskets, and needs some other little things like the brake light circuit repair, MID pixel repair, and basic maintenance like plugs and filters. Overall, we are very happy and look forward to learning more about this awesome ride!

Nice, I came from an E36 as well.
Good looking 4.4! Did you get any maintenance history? If not I would start with the basics. Cooling system, suspension components, driveline, all fluids, and a full inspection to look for problem areas. If all checks out, add gas and miles... |
Not much for records, but all the basic stuff is on the way...
I did a pretty thorough inspection and test drive so I was comfortable with how the car was maintained. This is my first experience with a BMW v8, I am a little more well versed in the I6s. |
Welcome dude! Congrats on both the boy and the X!
