speed - my wife is driving, and she is the speed demon in the house, so, i would say, it is at least 70+ MPH

Fuelly - I have looked into it, and I am still debating if i want to use it or not...

You may look at replacing your Vanos seals (beisan systems) on that engine and doing the chain rail guides if you plan to keep it. It helps, no joke. Lots of good feedback on the 5'er, 7'er forums.

Ever since I changed the plugs I'm averaging 21 mpg with a 3.0I engine. Mix of city and highway driving. I get close to 24 mpg on the highway.

I ask because I get slightly better mileage than that at a slightly higher MPH. I think I lucked out in my car and got a good mileage performer.

Everything good here. I don't know if my post was misinterpreted but my fuel consumption decrease is a good thing. :)

you got 4.8iS?

there is a "sweet spot" between the speed, and the RPM that yields better gas mileage... not sure what the sweet spot is, but you are probably driving in that spot...

the 4.8is performs better in the MPG department than the 4.6iS did... I guess, due to extra gear in the transmission...

I just bought 6 NGK spark plugs and hoping I'll be getting better gas mileage as well after I change them.

I've been getting around 18-19l/100km (around 12.5mpg). From reading around, that's around the same as the 4.8is.. but mine is only the petite 3.0 :(

Does anybody know if O2 sensors need changing? I'm getting close to 160k KMs.

Wow that mileage stinks for the 3.0,

With my 4.8is, i get around 15ish around the suburbs and stuff, its a mixture of backroads 40+ and very short highway like 1-2 miles then exit etc, i dont drive it grandma either, if i do i can get better probably, highway, granted its usually just me in the car or one passenger, i pulled out around 22mpg on a 70m trip, and that was with some here and there acceleration shots.

It does suck. The MPG I have is city + highway, but I go out at night a lot, so roads are usually empty and I just cruise. (not much stop and go at all). I really hope spark plugs will fix the problem.

Wow, you get better mileage on the 4.8is than my 3.0i.. :banghead:
