Sorry to bother about coding again but..

i posted the same to bmwcoding.com, but maybe ill get some help on here as well from you guys.

Hey guys ive recently wanted to get into coding, i have used an Autologic before but i dont think it will go into As much detail as NCSexpert and such. I have an E53 and would like to play with my LCM abit.

I got the Blue Vag come cable off of Amazon and followed these instructions:
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1505990

Then i got the Eidibas/ Nscexpert and other stuff pack from this:
http://bmwcoders.com/forum/bmw-gt1-o...tool-winkfp-1/

Fast forward i follow the instructions and all but for some reason the list of chassis doesnt show up when i start INPA. its just F1 and F2, and i do get black dots like the guy in the frist link:

And i also dont think my NCSexpert is compatible with my windows 7.

What to do!??

Thank you!

when you start the ncs, is your inpa on? shut down inpa, keep edaibas running in the background, try to connect ncs again, see what happens...

what windows are you using? this stuff did not work on my win7 machine, worked fine (to some extend) on the XP pro

Yes i have the Windows 7 x64.

I tried to get the XP virtual pc but it says you need widows 7 proffesional or something for that.

I may just find a used XP Laptop somewhere for cheap, i feel like it might solve alot of problems.

And about to try what you just said

Edit: i think it the problem is the windows.

Ok after More research, ive found out there isnt a fix for this.

Anyone have XP laptop for really cheap?

TerminatorX5 02-25-2013 11:38 PM

check ebay

that was my problem, finding "cheap" laptops that would run the software and not be in utter shambles for under 200 bucks was hard for me to find. I was all gung ho about buying the cable and software and the computer was the problem.

i'd love to run it on my wife's macbook but hers is older too and filled with 2 million pictures of the dog lol

Did you check out "Diagnostic Software" subforum on bimmerforums.com? They're pretty active overthere with some knowledgable guys.
I had my stuffs running in a Dell D600 laptop bought fot $100 :D from craigslist. I want the D600 since it has the serial connection that is better than using adapter from USB to Serial, in order to connect the INPA/EDIABAS cable.I used it exclusively for my bimmers.
Check eBay and local craigslist for cheap used laptop.

Look into a Dell D410 on ebay - super cheap, get a new extended battery and you are good to go. I run one with XP 32-bit, works great.
