I'm had Diamaris, Advans, Duelers and now Latitude HP's. I think we pay for the French Summer Breaks for these price Michelins. IMO, the Michelins are a fine tire. I've found, out of all the brands, they always balance out with very little weights as well. Paid just shy of 1600 for the Latitudes. Then there was mount and balance....but I'm a tire whore. For me, it's another year or 2 left with the X.
I went with All Seasons for the next resale |

I'm still on Pirellis and when they wear out again another set will go on. We don't have to worry about seasonal tyres here in Australia, one set does all year round. |

My HRE set comes with Michelin Diamaris with about 90% thread when I had them last year. They are on the X for about 8K miles already and still have great thread. With my alignment setting, they worn evenly. They are good tires but too expensive. Next set would be Continental DWS.
On my daughter's X5, the tires are Bridgestone Duelers. |

A tire manufacture makes lots of different tires...plus you have dedicated summer, all-season, touring, winter (etc) classifications that makes it unclear as to the specific tire that is being heralded by the "testifier" if only the tire's manufacturer name is mentioned. :) Help the forum's collective wisdom, knowledge, and experience by fully describing not just the tire manufacturer, but the tire's name as well. This also helps us know the catagory/classification so that we can use the information or pass on it. :) BTW...what is the consensus for the definition of a "cheap" tire? Is it made from inferior rubber compounds...is it prone to disentegrating or blow-outs...is it a tire known for wearing fast or only achieving low mileage (that would be most summer tires)...or is it just a tire manufacture that doesn't have a big advertising budget or doesn't advertise much in the country you live? :dunno: |
