nice....you didnt complete this?

Where did you source your parts? Are you selling if you didnt do this? PM me if you are.

TerminatorX5 03-25-2013 02:40 PM

i piecemealed the parts from different sources... i am not ready to sell it as i hope to get it done... but with the part numbers listed, it is relatively easy to find them...

Lowblock 03-25-2013 03:18 PM

May I ask approx how much money's do you have invested?

TerminatorX5 03-25-2013 03:27 PM

it has been a while, and i have them sourced separately:
the 4 senders in the tire - off ebay, about $40 each...
the brain off ebay - about $80
the A169 module off ebay - about $120, but i sold mine for about $70
the 4 antennas, front a rear holders and the connectors off a dealer, whatever the price was...

Bringing back a thread from the dead...I have a 2006 (facelift) X5 3.0i with navigation, xenon's, and premium package but no cold weather package. I was doing a heated steering wheel retrofit and got the slip ring/clock spring/etc off to find out I didn't have the harness taped back for the heated steering wheel. I took the back seats up and did find harnesses for the rear heat.

Ya, that's the one from the clockspring to the heating element plug, but my car's missing the harness plug that plugs into the clockspring. It's shown at the bottom of page 5 of this diy:

according to the instructions, it is not a showstopper - you still can do the heated wheel, just run independent switched power to the plug, right?

ExpensiveTaste 08-25-2013 09:22 PM

Ya, just not part of the factory harness. Not sure if that helps with your survey of the various harnesses rolling out of the factory in the E53.
