06 navigation and aux question
I have a 06 with factory navigation and read an old thread on here that if you press the mode button and AUX shows up that you already have an aux connection somewhere. I can't find it but I want to see if this is true.
|
as you cycle through the modes, it goes through items that are connected to your system - radio, CD, tape, AUX... the aux cable presents a certain resistance value on the balanced (as many other wires in the car) line, and the system knows that there is an AUX wiring connected... if it is not coming up, no aux is connected...
still, like with anything else that i say out there - be sceptical of my statements, as they might be wrong... :) |
I gotta check again to see if I find it thanks
|
I installed the OEM Aux In cable in my 2005 a couple of years back.. Its always a little glitchy getting it to turn on... Many times it won't be recognized when I press the mode button... I have to hit it again once or twice and them poof it pops up... then I'll go for a few months and it works perfect every time...
Kinda like the rear windows... |
Is driving me crazy that I cant find this AUX connection
|
Hey i have the answer to your problem. Youre not supposed to have it come up if its not comming up. I bought a AUX input cable that plugged right in from ECS Tuning for like 35$.
One of the best 35$ i have spent on the car. Here it is: BMW E53 X5 N62 4.8L > ES#180583 > Notify Auxiliary Input Retrofit Kit - 65120153503 http://c1552172.r72.cf0.rackcdn.com/11811_x600.jpg Edit: ok well the 69$ price just surprsed me. I know i didnt pay that much and i got it from ECS. |
I know its late but I don't understand one shit your saying
|
whats the difference between
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E53-X5-N62_4.8l/ES180583/ and http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E53-X5-..._391/ES194847/ |
Why would it drive you crazy that you "CAN" find this aux connection?
If you have it then whats the problem? Here's the link describing the installation of the Aux input. http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...-input-x5.html When installed properly all one needs to do is push the "mode" button and aux shows up on the screen. No need to search for anything. Quote:
