If you use "current" to mean SUVs within the last generation, there's no question that I'd be deciding between the 6-Speed-Manual Cayenne GTS and the Touareg V10 TDI. But deciding between the two would be very difficult indeed.

I agree with Bayerische and he is a driving purist for the most part like me. Cayenne, 6-speed, GTS preferred but I would take a Cayenne S (especially the newer model) with a 6-speed too.

I highly considered previous gen (2007 was last year you could get them) V10 Touareg TDI as my mother owned a 2005 V8 for years and loved it, V10 in diesel? It's almost a no brainer and for the right example I would give up rowing gears for it for sure.

Haven't driven one yet, but thinking E70 35d might be my future replacement for this X down the line...

darks, that monster could make parking in the city real easy. If there's no space, you just make your own.

ML63 AMG. Something about completely over the top / unnecessarily fast SUV's that I can't get enough of, lol.

Range Rover Sport supercharged for me.

I have sampled everything out there since my I got my X new and have not found anything I like better, even any of the latest X series. This is the first vehicle other than a trailer queen that I have ever kept over 3 years. Assuming the X5 was discontinued and I had to stay with an SUV, I would save my nickels and dimes, for 50 years or so, to buy a Cayenne turbo S delivered to Hennessy Performance to be bumped up a couple hundred HP and Torque right out of the box.
