Hello!

Hi everyone! I am a relatively new owner of a 2006 X5 4.8is since January of this years, so its been a few months. I switched over from a 2001 E46 M3 and also had a 1999 E36 M3 before that. I love the X5! Here are some picture from the dealer of the day when I picked it up.

Beautiful X5. I'm an e36 convert also....
How many miles does she have? |
Currently sitting at 64,000 miles.

What are people's thoughts here on modifications? There are a few things which I would like to do: tint the windows, tint the rear lights a couple shades, silver side door rails, powercoat the wheels, and maybe black out the grill. I am a member at the M3Forum as well and they are huge on mods so I'm just trying to get a feel for this forum!

Clean example, final year of production, low miles, what a nice score!

Your mod ideas are nice. I'm not a fan of blacking out tails, but I think a slight smoke would look nice. In addition, gunmetal powdercoat on the wheels would really pop. Black grilles are a must on a black 4.8is, and the running boards look good too

Congratulations on your New Ride.. Please please dont Murder out the headlights and Taillights Tint and black out the grill ===Yes! silver side door rails??>... powdercoat the wheels?.....yes darker is better looking |
Great find, Congratulations!
If you change the color of the wheels to something darker you might consider not going with running boards if they are going to bring the silver back. Wheel spacers and/or lowering will fill up the wheel openings and improve handling if that is something you like. My X is black and I think the black grill is the way to go. Some remove the roof rails, not so many do that. Smoked tail lights are a mod that some do. Since there aren't that many 4.8s any changes you make that are easily noted will take away some of that sleeper feature. I do like a black, fairly dark window tint so it all the black blends together but not too dark. I have seen a black X with limo type privacy glass. To me it seemed to detract rather than improve the look. |
Welcome aboard! Great looking truck....not its time to mod mod mod!!
