Sometimes it still works great...for instance...if you add "carbon fiber" to the end of your search phrase...you'll find vendors selling the size you need with the "aftermarket" style you're looking for.

Examples:

i have replaced the whole emblem in the front, back, the wheel centers, the steering wheel and the valve caps - all blacked out, no carbon... since the car did not have anything else in carbon on the exterior, so i did not think having the emblems in "carbon" would be appropriate... since the car is already black, having the blue blacked out felt logical... i actually like the chinese emblems a bit better, as had them before on my other bimmers (black cars), and they prove to last longer then the OE, which end up chipping away or fade at the best...

the steering wheel emblem was a stick-on emblem - the original blue is still there, hiding under the black one... looks good...

the only emblem that was not changed over is the one on the muscle cover of the engine - this one probably will call for a sticker... unless i find a replacement blacked out assembly - i think it is part of the long lines that are part of the roundel plastic assembly... hard to explain - you have to look at it to see what i mean...
