Selling? Nope, she keeps pulling me back

I am TORN! Love my X5. But I'm trying to get realistic here. 2004 4.4i with 119k miles. Runs like a charm, but have already put close to 4500 in repairs this year (transfer case taking the most of it). Car is cosmetically perfect (beyond a few highway chips). So now what.
I've been looking at 335xi m sport coupes.., 6 speeds, obvi! So although I'd be paying more per month to get a 2011 335 (my X5 is paid off completely), is it worth the 400 or so payment to know that repairs are covered? Not sure. If I knew I'd have no problems for the next 50k miles, it'd be a no brainer. Who knows... What's your take? Ps-- I just went for a spirited drive, and damn! For 9 years and 119k, the X holds that road (the vredestein tires most definitely are incredible). It will be hard to let her go... Attachment 59793 |
I feel your pain brotha, I often get the same exact thoughts as I like change cars every other year. I've got the autobug.

Usually when I get bored of my cars I do a mod to them or put different wheels on, it usually keeps me happy for another year or two :)

Depends on your need. I you aren't doing much driving, then keep the X. If you plan on driving a lot, switch it up. Sure you are going to start whackin up payments to BMFS, but if it gets you into something you really want, might be a small price to pay. Just keep in mind, you're coming from an X and going to a 3 series. So if you are used to the room and just throwing bags and such in your whip, you're going to have an adjustment period.
ORRRRRR... get an X5M... those go for $400/ mo right? |

Hey bro heres an idea for you, in order to not get sick of my X5 I have this: http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cro...--9_600x0w.jpg I think maybe you need to get yourself on 2 wheels of motorcycle heaven, MUCH cheaper than a 37k 3-series that just came off lease :) |
I used to ride motorcycle too. From Suzuki GSX-R to Yamaha R1. Most of my riding friends no longer does, so it was collecting dust more than getting ridden. I haven't been on a 2-wheels for about 5 yrs now.

Used to have Suzukis, SV650 and SV1000S before I bought my Triumph, since my wife comes out on rides a lot its a real pain in the ass having someone lean on your back on a sportbike haha. Would love to get a Triumph Speed Triple or Ducati Streetfighter for spirited rides by myself or for city riding however, the cruiser is phenomenal for long trips but gets tedious in slower moving places like crowded towns, etc. |
