Paint peel...
 

Here are some pics of my hood jams... My paint is peeling all along them, and crawled to the outside of the fender on the left side. Is this a problem with any one else?

I guess that car has been painted before. I don't think that's original paint.

looks like a respray and not a very good one.

Did you check the Carfax or autocheck on the car?

I don't think it's a respray. That's not an uncommon problem in the earlier E53s. My 02 has the same issue along the hood and rear hatch.

yea, I too have an 02 4.6is in estoril and have the paint peeling in the exact same areas, never been in an accident or repainted

This problem with Esoril Blue was documented somewhere on this forum too. I came across a thread about it awhile back. No it's not a re-paint.

Ive seen this on another estoril BUT I know for sure that vehicle was painted as it was a theft recovery and there was patch painting everywhere.

I did see another thread about someone having some paint issues, also an estoril, where there was a substance appearing under the clear between the paint and the clear and spreading. Is this an issue with the estoril specifically?

It does appear that this issue is occurring on Estoril Blue only.
