Really unhappy 4.6iS
 

Got to tell you that I am really unhappy. Last week traffic stopped in front of me and so did I. Can't say the same for the person behind me.
So far the shop has about $9200 in damage. A lot of it because, on the drivers side, the rear quarter is creased. Can't do an alignment check because the air suspension has the rear fully jacked up in the air. Looks like one of the level sensors is messed up.
Due to the total damage so far they are doing an assessment to see what repair/total valuation is.
I looked for 8 months to find this one.
03 Estoril Blue, full black leather interior, black Cosmo trim, factory tow, navigation. Plus the customization and standard maintance that has been done.
Tranny at 60k, alternator, water pump, expansion tank hoses, plugs, etc at 100k

Looking for input and advice. Want it fixed :(

Oi, that really stinks. At least you are ok and able to post about it on the forum. So you are very lucky. As for input... what would you like it to be about? You want input on if you should fix it, total it, part it out? Let us know.

And again, glad you are ok.

if they total it, take the money, buy the truck back and fix it... drawback, you will have salvaged title that will reduce the value... this is a rear damage, should be fixable... $9K estimate is a variable - at one shop it can be $12K and at another - $3K of the actual work and parts...

Sorry to hear about your car, hope you didn't sustain any serious injury

First I would like to thank all of you for your concern. No one was injured. Traffic was slow enough and they were trying to stop, so it was not as bad as it could have been. No air bags deployed.
Just got the word that they are going to repair it. Covered up to $12523, estimated $10500.
I can't tell you how happy I am. Estimate about 3-4 weeks to repair. Will keep everyone posted.

Maybe someone rammed you in the rear because they also did not enjoy the look of your tail lights very much.

Gosh, if it weren't for that 1/4 panel damage, you'd have been in a lot better shape.

Glad you were able to save a 4.6is from the grave.
