Trying to install the BMW software for coding etc,.

so i got the software from the romanian guy. I don't know if my dvds are no good, but i cant get this thing to install or copy to my computer.

i put disk 1 in after god he knows how long, it says i can now put disk 2 in. i put disk 2 in for god he knows how long, then it says its time to unzip. i click unzip file and it says the files from disk 1 is missing so i should put disk 1 in......this is using the AUTOMATIC way.(if you have these same dvd u will know what i mean)

Now the manual way says i should copy the file to the partition with more space. i put disk 1 in trying to copy it to my C drive and once it reaches 3/4 of the way, it starts to act funny. It would say i have 5 minutes left, then it starts saying i have 15 minutes, 20, 10...it fluctuates. lol

The guy said I could contact him and he can help me remotely....i guess he will connect to my computer and do the steps remotely.

any tips guys?

im thinking if i cant get this step, why should i even bother with messing around with settings on the truck if i do get it to run properly.

I could have extended the Dallas Tollway a mile by time I got the software to load.

I kept trying by following the putting in disc 1 until it asked for disc two. Once it downloads properly you will have a folder on that drive that is titled something like Romanian diagnostic. Open the file and use BMW emblem that is zips the file. Use the other BMW buttons to install and execute. Hope this makes it a breeze. When you re-insert disc on you have to wait a long time before it will give you further instructions. I think this was the success process but I tried so many times I am not sure.

I have xp also.

First thing I did to get it to work was uninstall everything I had done.
Next I loaded disc one and waited until it said load disc 2
I left disc 2 in the drive until I got the next instruction
I think the instruction was put disc 1 in again but it gets hazy from there
I do know that it was necessary to leave disc 1 in a long time the second time before I got the next instruction
Once it was installed correctly the instruction sent me to the folder titled diagnostics
In that folder were 3 blue BMW icons
First click on the unzip file
Then the install file
Finally open the exe file to start the program

This might be wrong but I am not going to do it again to make sure. I would rather do the tollway thing.

I never had this CD or had to install it, but usually when i run into any problems like this i Like to disregard the Autorun sequence. I just right click open file and unzip everything manually using WinRAR or something

That's what the inpa forum instructions were but I couldn't get it to work. I emailed the seller and even his instructions were different and outdated based on the software I received. I divorced windows many years ago and I try really hard to forget our relationship. Apple is my soulmate and I quickly lose my patience when I have to be around the ex so you could be exactly right.

For me, once I load disc 2, it says I should unzip the file. Once I attempt to unzip the file, it says disc 1 file is missing...load disc 1.....and the saga continues

Are you using the default drive and folder for disc 1, or did you install it on another drive or in another folder?
