That is what I did. My X sits like that picture.

Ok, it'll be the 50 series sidewall difference. I'll measure again tonight.

Thanks

That gives me 28.5 which = 723.9.

did you measure the front height as well to see if its even or not? Looks like you're a little high but hard to tell if the front isn't compared, for example if you are 720mm in the front you're pretty spot on, but if the front is around 700mm or so you need to lower the air springs on the rear axle a bit to even out the ride. I'm sorry but I usually have more experience with 2-axle air suspensions.

Regardless, 15-20mm difference shouldn't be enough that you're feeling the car being excessively stiff. Are you sure the "stiff feeling" is coming from the rear of the car?

What type of tires do you have? If they are run flats they are EXTREMELY stiff tires, I would never run a set personally, my MIL used to have an X3 with runflats and I must have lost 3 fillings riding in that car.

Also, what tire pressure do you run? Is it the same at all 4 corners, have you checked it recently?

I am not the OP. Just chimed in.

The car has new 255 50 19 Nitto not run flat tires (installed I assume by the dealer) They are at 32lbs all around (checked yesterday) the car feels very good for a large SUV like vehicle.

Only the rear has air so not much I can do about the front height, I will measure the front when I get home.

Thanks

Front is 27 inches = 685.8mm.

Ricky Bobby 10-02-2013 09:33 AM

well than your X is 1.5 inches higher in the rear. Mine sits about .5" lower in the front compared to the rear, gives it a nice even stance with just a hint of forward rake.

If our chart of ride heights are right, your X is about 1" higher in the rear than it should be.

It doesn't sit oddly to my eye & rides well for a tall heavy vehicle. I came from a heavily modified 06 350Z so getting used to the difference has been interesting.

Where will I go when I get the Romanian set up to bring the back down?

Thanks

Don't want to clog up the OP's thread so we may want to keep the back and forth messages via pm, but when you get DIS up and running, there should be a function in "control module functions" that allows you to lower the axle. However, your module might have different functions since I have a 4-corner air susp car, and yours is rear air only. I would imagine its similar though.

Measured again 28.5 both sides in back. I have stock 19" rims. Based on the numbers it is 1.05" high in back.

Sorry if I clogged up the thread.

Thanks
