CD changer woes....think I need a good repair shop....
2 Attachment(s)
I recently bought a 6 disk changer on eBay. I know I know.
The cd changer does not work and I am looking for a place to repair it. There are none in my area that I can find. I am willing to ship it off for a reasonable and quality repair. Just making sure the issue isn't with my X5 or the install. Not sure what it is so I don't know if I have DSP. When I hook the player up in my X5 the stereo shows "CD ERROR". I tried it in my E46 to see if that would work. It showed "CH CHECK" and never did anything else. I also hooked the changer from my E46 up in my X5 and it worked perfectly right off. At the insistence of the seller that it does indeed work, I unhooked my battery to maybe jumpstart it. No luck. The changer has some sort of jack on it that looks like the antenna hookup but I didn't see a cable in my truck. The changer is a 6512 6 913 390 as shown below |

What vintage do they allege this cd changer is from? |

try holding the unit vertical as it would sit in the M3 .

If you find that something is wrong with it, I have a 6 disc changer that I removed from my X that is sitting in my garage.

The connector that looks like an antenna connector is the coaxial cable connector that is used to connect to the DSP amp directly.
Wouldn't be the first time seller on eBay sold a piece of junk. If he advertised that it works but it didn't just file a grievance with eBay. |
Slightly OT, who honestly uses the cd changer? Don't most people get a DICE and disconnect their changer?
