Installing the Underride guard!

1 Attachment(s)
Hey, I got a question before I start installing the underride protection kit that I order.
I found some pdf document on another forum and in the instruction under 13 it said that I have to make some cuts into the front bumper. The picture shows a standard bumper, I have the 4.8is front bumper.

Has anyone installed the underride guard with a 4.8is bumper. If so did you make the cuts like in the picture?

I don't have the underride guard. But if I put one in, I would loosely mounted, mark and trim as needed.

I installed it on a 4.8is bumper and did have to make notches on them. Not terrible. I used a Dremel.

Did you make the cuts where the blue tape is?

Also did you loosely mount the guard and then checked were to cut and how much?

Thanks for the picture

Thanks for the picture

I made the cut in the small painted plastic rectangle that the tape outlines. I cut the size according to the instructions and did not have a problem with install.

Do you mean the rectangle that is not the blue tape circled in red?http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/20/u5ady5ev.jpg

You're welcome. I hope on to that with the hopes of one day finding an LCI x5 for sale with the guard on that I can buy. I'd buy the truck just for the guard.
