I use the CRC Ceramic brake grease. Stuff lasts forever and the brakes are as quiet as a mouse. It's expensive compared to other brake grease, but I won't use anything else.

Do they sell those in every auto parts store? I don't remember seeing any brake grease at Autozone.

I know O'Rilley carries it, A'Zone should too.

Also I don't have to put the grease all over the back of the pad right? Just on the areas where the caliper and pad contact.

Yeah, the "ears" of the pad. Also the piston itself, but just a little, like was said earlier. And most importantly the slide pins.

I did my rears a while ago, and one of my calipers stuck slightly because I didn't clean and grease them.

Pull all of them all the way out, use a degreaser to get the old crud off. You want clean metal. I ended up using an acid chrome wheel cleaner to get mine shiny again.

Your girl will appreciate the extra lube.

I got the Silaramic grease at Autozone

Do not grease the slide pins. They are designed to be installed dry. Lubes can swell the sleeves, and cause the calipers to hang up.

Just clean them, and ensure the caps are installed to keep them clean and dry.

Where did you learn this? I had a famiky member that was a bmw master tech and he told me to apply a thin layer of grease to the slide pins to keep them free of corrosion and to keep them sliding freely. I have always done so and have never had a problem. How would grease swell sleeves?
