Search for clean low mileage 4.8is
 

Hey fellas,
I'm on a serious hunt for a mint low mileage 4.8is. I've seen quite a few over past 8 months, but wasn't quite there to pull the trigger. With my "awesome" luck now that I'm ready to purchase one, there are none to be found :( I do have an access to the auctions, but unfortunately nothing came up to catch my interest. Here's my wish list so to speak:
Model Year 2006 with built date of 2006, but might consider 2004&2005
No anykind of respray on any of the body panels
No accidents
No salvage/rebuilt title cars
Exterior color: only Black or Sterling Gray
Interior color: only Black leather or black checkered alcantara
Mileage: below 60,000, ideally below 50,000
Preferred options, but not a must have:
Navigation
Comfort Seats
Sliding Trunk Floor
Heated Steering Wheel
Running Boards
I know they are out there and need you help with locating one. If anyone knows of one for sale or anyone here is thinking of selling theirs I'm all ears!

Your are going to have to travel.............I wouldn.t buy one here in NY.

Found 3 4.8is with the mileage requirements in ab 30 seconds.

From someone who searched for his 'ultimate 4.8is' for 7 years, I'll offer this advice: Unless you can wait for 7 years, have ridiculous luck (it appears you do not), will fly across the country with less than a week's notice, and are ready to pay cash on the day you call the seller, you need to budge on your requirements- namely color.

I always felt like the color didn't matter. If it's the car I want at the other specs I want, I wouldn't care if it's purple. (actually, a technoviolet E53 would be hawt.) but here's your mileage snip from my search:

Thanks for the links and advice. Yeah I'm pretty much firm on the color combo and not going to budge on that. I'm quite flexible on options though so I don't think it's going to take that long. I've been keeping an eye for 4.8is and seen about 6 within my requirements that came up for sale in the past 12 months. It's always like that when you don't need something there's always an abundance of things and when you need it there's none to be found lol:dunno:

You're most likely not going to find one with Running Boards standard unless you buy from Canada where they are standard equipment on a lot of E53. You can always add them afterwards as they are about 700 from the dealer.

PropellerHead is right and the man to speak of for doing a search, if you have cash ready and have the patience it can be done, personally I think either of those Imola Red 4.8's are gorgeous, and it's one of the rarest 4.8 colors.

You're going to find a LOT of silver 4.8is in your search, just FYI, but I think you said that you like silver so that's ok.

Honestly if it were me I'd take any clean low mileage mint example I could find, with a service history, one owner if possible and owned in the South, all the 4.8 color selections are great in my opinion.

Theyre out there and patience is your friend. I looked off an on for 3 years for a 4.6 and was very specific on color (Estoril); as in not up for negotiation. I travelled all over east coast and nothing met my standards. Then out of the blue, no pun intended, one pops up 30mi from me meeting all my criteria. The rest as they say is history.

They are NOT available in Sterling Grey, so Black is the ONLY color of choice for you. Good luck!
