Sounds like you are having a good time even with the setbacks.

Frank awesome pics and great story! Studdin it up posin in front of the little swine!

Yes you can get led tails, you have an 02 right? For the 03 you just need a capacitor for the adaptive brake lights.

For the subframe you need the special tool to press in and out the bushings, poly replacements run about 330 or 500 bucks for the set depending on brand (Armstrong or Powerflex). Meyle HD solid rubber bushings are about 140.

For the steering wheel, if you want one like mine nice and thick, I got it from a seller on EBay Germany and paid $240, it was worth every penny.

Family has a home in Lake Chapala. I base out there when I can.

I like long drives so no worries. This trip could have used less events, but I'm here safe and sound

BC- What can I say, I like driving, and now I have another project!

RB! I remember that steering wheel! Wanting!

I want to add the shifters.

Want to tweak the suspension more sport in it.

This is a 03. Got a link for the lights? Suspension goodies?

Dinan. Oh man.

Frank I'll send you the link to the seller who made mine when you are ready, just pm me!

You could put the H&R kit which has lowering springs for the front and links for the rear to lower the bags, Bcredliner has on his and looks sweet!

Here are tails I bought from same seller two years ago and still working great!

Dinan. Oh man.

Along with the H&R lowering kit I added 17MM Velocity spacers, Eibach Sway bars and Powerflex subframe bushings. I tried 2 different combinations of shocks and struts but ended up going back to Stock as that was the best combination of ride and handling. For tires I have Continental Extreme contacts. Sidewalls are a little soft but overall handling is better. Rims are stock staggered 87s. I have the Dinan strut tower brace and camber plates.

I replaced the steering wheel with a SMG paddleshift wheel. I have Dinan transmission software that speeds up shift, increases shift points RPMs and allows me to hold it in any gear. I posted a DIY of the process.

Pancho,
I followed your threads on your 4.8...did you end up putting in a new engine in the end? I am really sure that the 4.8 was bought at Carline second hand, then it ended up at paramount fine cars...Too bad it was written off...Glad you made it safe...

Glad you made it, brother you're either off your rocker or you have huge gonads to trust your X on a road trip that long...lol! I drove my 2002 4.6is from California to San Antonio, TX back in 2012, I barely made it going and coming back home! My X broke down 5 days after I got there, on the way back home it broke down 3 days after I got home, I couldn't imagine being stuck by the side of the road in New Mexico, Arizona or West Texas, those are some lonely roads. I'll never drive my X on a trip that far again, my X has been parked in my garage since late November with broken timing chain guides, no surprise I guess...lol!
