If not replicas, then stock 20s. If performance is the top priority then, the 20s are out. Assume the best for performance would be the smallest diameter in general.

If you're not upgrading the brakes to something like a BBK then I guess you don't have to worry about clearance issues with the smaller diameter wheels.

The 20s ride great, with the right tires you'd love them. The 20s look proper on an E53 in my opinion. My wife has 17s on her Rav4 with 225/65/17 tires and my X5 with 20s absorbs bumps like a Cadillac comparatively. The Toyota rides like a go kart with a smaller wheel.

For the 19s, I think I know the ones off the X6 you speak of, the 5 spoke ones? If so they will look good on your car, again the sizes are limited in 19s.

The X6 hub bore on the rear is the same as E53 (72.56), but on the front it is same as E70 bore (74.1), you'll need hub centric rings on the front wheels. With the ET21 you won't need to worry about rubbing in the rear, you will be hella flush actually!

With my rear 20s 10.5 wide and et30 I'm almost flush, those sizes would be good on your ride.

TMV, perhaps I'm not visualizing ET 21mm properly, given the charts showing E53s' rear ET as being 30-48mm. I was thinking with an ET21mm 10" wide wheel, like the style 258 I'm considering, you would need a spacer to get the inside of the wheel away from shocks, springs etc.

Maybe I'm visualizing the ET21mm on a 10" wide wheel wrong. The charts show the ET for E53s at 30mm-48mm; The style 258s I'm considering show 21mm ET. I was thinking I would have to have a spacer to keep the inside of the wheel off the shocks/springs etc.

Which is why I say 10" wide ET21 is gonna be looking tight, hella flush!

As long as its off the fender and won't rub, both running light and, on the occasional trailer tow [when hitch installed], with a 400 lb. or so so hitch weight, I'm good .....

They will fit just fine. Your X isn't lowered anyway.
My rear wheels are 20x11 with 20mm offset. Lower 1" and no rubbing.

Thanks TMV, good to know. So, if I make a deal for the style 258 19s, I won't need spacers, but will need the hubcentric rings [from ECSTuning or another source] on the front to mount them. It is a similar appearance rim to my existing 5 spokes. Won't be as sweet a deal as TiAgX5's nice set up, but close.
