Pure luck. Found the sensor and was tracing the wire back. Once I got close to the connector, it just fell off. I said WTF, and plugged it back in, this time it's on good.

I know the feeling of complete relief coupled with the can't be this simple anxiety that soon overrides until there is proof all is well. What should be lasting is not that you were lucky but pride that you were wise to do the troubleshooting rather than buying new parts.
