You're very right.
However even during regular driving you'll feel the difference if you go for a set of Breyton Spirits which are around 40lb each rather than those estimated RAC Monolites @ 20.5lb each.

That's 20lb extra in each corner, 80lb overall. That's a lot of extra unsprung weight to deal with. Just something to think about before you spend a few thousand dollars to decrease your braking ability and slow down acceleration + handling.

Have you guys seen the BMW X3 commercial where the entire point of it is because BMW's handle well they are very safe cars? That's something I wouldn't want to give up.
