OEM Navigation?

Any suggestions for aftermarket navigation systems? My stock navigation LCD is dimming and has a growing spot in the bottom left corner of dead pixels. Started with one and it's grown so about the size of a dime.

You can replace just the LCD screen of your monitor. Part is about $120 and you can DIY it. Do a search here for "LCD" and you'll see a lot of threads on it.

Wouldn't that be a little like buying a new speaker for a 14 year old cassette player?

How so? If the OEM system is otherwise perfectly functional and serves the owners needs, and the price of a replacement screen is substantially lower than a full replacement unit anyway....

I'd love to change my head unit to one with better nav, SQ, etc...but having DSP, it's a pain in the ass for not much gain for me.

Just giving OP options to consider.

No different from buying digital copies of old songs that were recorded on analog tape.

I agree. As long as its updated with latest firmware/maps the OEM system works fine, of course its not like the ones of today but its OEM integrated, looks like it belongs there.

I have yet to see an aftermarket solution that looks like it belongs.

I can sell you mine for cheap when I throw it out- so outdated although functional (ehh, what is a cassette?) :D. I'm going to replace it with state-of-the-art dynavin which is absolutely OEM looking and just belongs.
Dynavin
